Online tutoring, online learning, and online supplemental instruction have moved well past the "backup option" reputation they had a few years ago. Today, live virtual sessions can match — and in consistency and access, often beat — traditional in-person tutoring. Here's why partnering with me online is a smart choice for your student.

📅

Real Consistency

No commute, no weather cancellations, no lost driving time — which means more actual instructional minutes, more often.

🎯

Access to the Right Fit

You're not limited to whoever happens to tutor near you. You get matched with the right specialist, period.

🧠

Comfort Lowers Anxiety

Learning from a familiar space can reduce the performance anxiety some students feel in an unfamiliar in-person setting.

💻

Built for How Kids Already Learn

Live, screen-based, interactive instruction meets students in a format they're already comfortable navigating.

🏫

ESA Flexibility

Virtual delivery makes it possible to serve ESA families across state lines, without geography limiting your options.

📈

Room to Scale Up

Need more time before a big exam? Virtual scheduling makes it easy to add sessions without added travel burden.

What the Research Says

"Sustained exposure is likely necessary"

A Johns Hopkins Magazine feature on researcher Amanda Neitzel's work on live virtual reading tutoring reported that students who kept up consistent virtual sessions over a full school year saw literacy gains more than double compared to a single semester — and that students who reached at least 56 sessions saw meaningfully larger gains than those who stopped sooner. Neitzel's team pointed to ongoing, regular participation as the likely driver, especially for younger students still building core skills.

The Takeaway for Your Student

Consistency is the real driver of results — and virtual sessions make consistency easier to sustain than in-person tutoring often does, simply by removing the friction (commute time, scheduling conflicts, weather, illness) that causes sessions to get skipped or cancelled. That's exactly why my sessions are built for flexible, frequent scheduling: 30-minute to 2-hour sessions, four to seven days a week, so your student can get the sustained exposure the research points to.
